Description: This book deals with Invitations to Tender (ITTs) for the provision of Facility Management (FM) services. It presents a framework to support companies in preparing clear, comprehensive and effective ITTs, focusing on such key aspects as: organizational structures, tools and procedures for managing information, allocation of information responsibilities, procedures for services monitoring and control, quality policies, and risk management. It discusses and analyzes a range of basic terms and concepts, procedures, and international standards concerning the Tendering Process, as well as the contents of ITTs, which should represent the translation of information needs into requirements related to: the client’s goals, main categories of information to deal with, expected organization of information, modalities of reporting and control, and level of knowledge to be reached. A further major focus is on potential key innovation scenarios concerning current FM practice, such as Sustainable Procurement, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Big Data and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, highlighting both the possible benefits and the possible risks and implications that could negatively affect the quality of FM service provision if not properly treated within the ITT. The book will be of interest to real estate owners, demand organizations and facility managers, enhancing their ability to prepare, interpret and/or critically analyze ITTs.

Description: Informal learning can pack quite a punch in terms of boosting workplace performance and efficiency. But what is it, and what can you do to promote informal learning in the workplace? According Bob Hoffman, informal learning is anything that is not recognizable as formal training and performance support, such as organized classes, workshops, individualized instruction, and job aids. In addition, it is just-in-time, contextual, individualized, personal, chunked, and limited in scope; in other words, it's exactly what you need at exactly the moment you need it. Informal Learning describes 13 modes of informal learning, including information gathering, help desk use, and mixed teams. Furthermore, this Infoline presents ways that you can evaluate and promote these modes to fit your organizational context.

Description: #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Brené Brown has taught us what it means to dare greatly, rise strong, and brave the wilderness. Now, based on new research conducted with leaders, change makers, and culture shifters, she’s showing us how to put those ideas into practice so we can step up and lead. Look for Brené Brown’s new podcast, Dare to Lead, as well as her ongoing podcast Unlocking Us! NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY BLOOMBERG Leadership is not about titles, status, and wielding power. A leader is anyone who takes responsibility for recognizing the potential in people and ideas, and has the courage to develop that potential. When we dare to lead, we don’t pretend to have the right answers; we stay curious and ask the right questions. We don’t see power as finite and hoard it; we know that power becomes infinite when we share it with others. We don’t avoid difficult conversations and situations; we lean into vulnerability when it’s necessary to do good work. But daring leadership in a culture defined by scarcity, fear, and uncertainty requires skill-building around traits that are deeply and uniquely human. The irony is that we’re choosing not to invest in developing the hearts and minds of leaders at the exact same time as we’re scrambling to figure out what we have to offer that machines and AI can’t do better and faster. What can we do better? Empathy, connection, and courage, to start. Four-time #1 New York Times bestselling author Brené Brown has spent the past two decades studying the emotions and experiences that give meaning to our lives, and the past seven years working with transformative leaders and teams spanning the globe. She found that leaders in organizations ranging from small entrepreneurial startups and family-owned businesses to nonprofits, civic organizations, and Fortune 50 companies all ask the same question: How do you cultivate braver, more daring leaders, and how do you embed the value of courage in your culture? In this new book, Brown uses research, stories, and examples to answer these questions in the no-BS style that millions of readers have come to expect and love. Brown writes, “One of the most important findings of my career is that daring leadership is a collection of four skill sets that are 100 percent teachable, observable, and measurable. It’s learning and unlearning that requires brave work, tough conversations, and showing up with your whole heart. Easy? No. Because choosing courage over comfort is not always our default. Worth it? Always. We want to be brave with our lives and our work. It’s why we’re here.” Whether you’ve read Daring Greatly and Rising Strong or you’re new to Brené Brown’s work, this book is for anyone who wants to step up and into brave leadership.

Description: The book, Digestive Disorders, is dedicated to the intelligent reader who wants to understand and manage his or her digestive tract disorder. The book covers a range of problems from milder, but unpleasant symptoms that recur over many years to serious, life-threatening diseases. The book is available in printed and eBook editions and interfaces with the Alpha Nutrition Program, a standard method of diet revision From the Introduction There are at least 100 million people in the USA and Canada that have recurrent, long-term gastrointestinal symptoms. Abdominal pain, distension with excess gas, constipation and diarrhea are the four prominent symptoms. Most members of this large group will self-medicate and suffer long-term. Some will receive the diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome along with inappropriate advice and medication with limited efficacy. Some will emerge from this large symptomatic group with well defined disease. The rest of the symptomatic population will remain by default sufferers of the irritable bowel syndrome. Most members of this symptomatic group will have other dysfunction associated with and probably caused by their digestive problems. Crohns disease, Celiac disease and Ulcerative Colitis are three of the more serious diagnoses. These digestive tract diseases are immune-mediated, with increased permeability of the digestive tract, and are associated with a long list of whole body, immune-mediated diseases. Patients with these conditions are often symptomatic for many years before the diagnosis is made. The main difference between Celiac and Crohns disease is that celiac patients are told to change their diet and improve when they remove gluten from their diet; Crohns patients are not told to change their diet and often follow a deteriorating path of chronic disease, some with episodic crises that require surgery, prolonged hospitalization and permanent disability. We believe these conditions are related in terms of disease causing mechanisms and recommend that all groups of patients follow a similar protocol of diet revision. The main difference is that acute inflammation of the bowel wall in a Crohns patient can be dangerous and requires a food holiday sometimes for several weeks. Food is replaced by Alpha ENF with optional additional nutrients.
